Description:
Magnofenac belongs to a family
of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It
exerts its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic effects by
inhibiting the activity of prostaglandin synthetase and lysosomal enzyme.
It relieves pain and inflammation by inhibiting the activity of
prostaglandin

The usage of Magnofenac in children is not recommended.
Adults:
Magnofenac (ampoule) should not be given for more than 2 days.
Intramuscular injection: Magnofenac (75 mg) given by deep intragluteal injection once or twice (separated by few hours interval – one into each buttock) daily for maximum 2 days.
Intravenous infusion:
Magnofenac (75 mg) diluted with 0.9% saline or glucose 5% infusion solution
buffered with sodium bicarbonate (100-500 ml) should be infused over a
period of 30 minutes to 2 hours. The therapy should be repeated (after few
hours) according to requirement but maximum dose of 150 mg can be given in
24 hours. For prevention of postoperative pain, loading dose of 25-50 mg
can be infused after surgery in 15-60 minutes, followed by a continuous
infusion of about 5 mg/hour up to maximum dosage of 150 mg daily.
